What's the deal with 16x9 video?

ok, I've spent, maybe 3 nights, trying to find a video hosting site, or a proper video format for uploading 16x9 video.

I convert video into 5 different formats, upload them, and they all come out encoded in 4x3, and the video is squashed. Albeit, it makes all of us look nice and skinny, other things just don't look so right.

So if you know of a site that accepts and hosts 16x9 video, I'd appreciate you dropping me a comment.

Lots of HD widescreen cameras out there now....what gives?!?!?
