Mark survives his first hockey tryout

Yesterday, Mark went through his first hockey try-outs for his first season of hockey. We are very proud of him, he did great, and he is very pleased.

Not knowing what to expect, he was nervous going into his evaluation. This is his first time, and being a late starter, there were many others his age that had done this 3 or 4 times already. This was Marks first time.

But his confidence, and hard work pulled him through, and he pulled off a great evaluation. 2 weeks of hockey camp, and a whack of skating lessons last year certainly helped, but more than anything, he didn't let the pressure get to him, skated his drills, and finished up with a big smile on his face.

This year Mark is really looking forward to hockey. And so am I.

Getting him dressed, tying up his skates in the sweaty dressing room, seeing him out there with all the other kids, brings back lots of fond memories when I played at his age. He's got the itch. I've got the itch, and I can't WAIT until the season starts.

I'm proud of you Mark, to start this late, and have the confidence you do, you are going to do awesome, and are gonna have a great time!
